Evolution, a modern day religion is a topic hotly debated in science and theology, Christianity agrees with science on virtually everything save the issue of evolution, Christianity and Christians disagree unequivocally for 2 major reasons.
- Classical Evolution hasn’t been proved(observed, tested or replicated).
- It undermines the belief in God.
Evolution as described by Charles Darwin is based on the premise that life started from a single-celled organism that became complex leading to the formation of amphibians’ ultimately culminating in the eventual formation of man, if you remember nothing about evolution don’t forget this acronym FARM(Fish, Amphibian, Reptiles and Mammals, it shows the evolutionary pathway. such concept wasn’t, hasn’t and most likely wouldn’t be proved but evolutionary scientists act like it has. This concept was latched upon by atheist as the holy grail of biology from that time till now biological scientist are searching for a mythical “missing link” to prove their theory of evolution.
We sometimes hear a insect is resistant to a drug 💊, the generally held view and belief is that the insect gained new genetic information to thwart the effects of the drug however advances in science has shown that instead of adding they actually lose the genetic material that interacts with the disinfectant. In other words the chemical in the disinfectant or insect-repellent has nothing to destroy thus it has zero effect on the insect. On the contrary for a single-celled organism to be the ground zero for human evolution it(the cell) has to acquire new genetic information along the way, this material becomes complex with every evolutionary path, sadly biological scientist have not found a SINGLE way for this to be possible, they observed an organism instead of acquiring new genetic material actually loses them and this is what we call Micro-Evolution(Survival of the Fittest).
Humans and Chimps(APES) are believed to share very similar DNA Structure 98% some claim 95% whatever the claim is, advances in DNA Sequencing is shedding more light on the close relationship between man and chimps, coincidentally evolutionary scientist believe this is some kind of proof of evolution however they are met with stiff resistance by the same science(Information Technology and biology), in IT we are observing a pattern of code-sharing employed in development of several applications, Microsoft Windows 10 uses this pattern, Windows 10 for PC and Mobile shares almost same kernel but differs slightly due to form factor and generic usage, this is a result of Microsoft deliberately designing it that way. Christians and creationist could argue that God made man and apes using same building blocks(DNA) instead of redesigning man from the scratch which makes sense from an engineering and designing standpoint. From a cognitive standpoint, apes behave less likely than humans(alleged common ancestors) in fact science has proved that birds are closer to humans in cognitive abilities, also consider that humans and banana share 50% DNA does that mean humans and bananas have common ancestors? The more science discovers, the harder it is for classic evolutionary theory to stand, so what scientist do these days is to twist the original theory to fit into their discoveries A.K.A modifying Darwin's origin of species to new discoveries hence we have Neo-Darwinism(Punctuated Equilibrium to make the case for missing links and micro-evolution leading to macroevolution), these new discoveries makes more case for a Creator( I dislike the term intelligent designer because it is used specifically so as not to reference the Judeo-Christian God) and a quick fact empirical science has not debunked any claim In the Bible.
Undermines belief in God!
Science in and of itself doesn't argue against God in all respect it argues for a Creator God but the biases of scientist is what undermines and argues against God. Scientist are obsessed with finding alien life but mention God and they go ballistic, wouldn't God be classified as an alien if by man even succeeds in finding him? Man by nature doesn't want to be answerable to anyone or any being, it kills man when he knows he has to account for his ways and because of this feeling man resorts to finding alternatives to God, Charles Darwin hit the jackpot with his "Origins of Species" and man finally felt he had what was needed to remove God totally from the equation the problem with the theory is, it's very speculative, enriching, thought-provoking, filled with assumptions and in all honestly should've never been classified as a fact of empirical science. Romans 1: 22,28 Professing themselves to be wise they became fools; Even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
The story of creation is not the bedrock of Christianity but the essence of it, your belief in the age of earth doesn't undermine the gospel of salvation but your belief in the creation is essential because without it there is no basis of believing in Christ. To put it simply, consider the following logical statements.
Without creation, there is no man,
Without man, there is no fall of man(sin),
Without fall of man, there is no need for redemption from sin,
Without redemption for sin, there is no need for Christ,
Without Christ, there is no need for The Cross
Without The Cross, there is no basis of Christianity.
A belief in the theory of evolution takes God out completely, it acknowledges and postulates life from non-life(abiogenesis), a unicellular organism magically(insert miraculously) became complex and evolved till it became man, one would require a heavy dosage of faith to believe in that theory, and a new theory being peddled by theist who need to fit into the evolutionary sphere is the theistic evolution. "Theistic Evolution" is heretical because it claims life existed before man on earth and was essential in creating man, when clearly the bible states the earth was void and without form until God spoke.
A belief in theory of evolution takes Adam(first man) out completely leaving us with LUCY(believed to be female human-like ape but essentially an ape) commonly know in scientific circles as Australopithecus afarensis, if you as a Christian believe in Darwin's Macro-Evolutionary theory then what is the basis of believing in Romans 5:12 "Sin entered the world through one man(Adam) and death by sin, death was passed upon all men, for that all have sinned", and this is the ultimate message of the cross?
A belief in the theory of evolution takes Jesus out completely and leaves us with some unicellular prokaryotes as the ground-zero(ironically Darwin never explained how these prokaryotes came about). John 1:1-4 It's recorded God is eternal and existed, there was the WORD and the WORD was God, all things were made by him and without him was not anything that was made, in him was LIFE. Only the Bible has an answer to how those prokaryotes came about(if we are to pander to intelligent design advocates or answer the key question to Darwinism). If Jesus did not die for our sins there is NO redemption of man thus man has no business reading a bible, going to church and in all honesty no meaning to life.
A belief in evolution is a belief in the eternality of the universe, unfortunately science has proved and is still proving that the universe is not eternal as once thought(by same science), the bible already explained that the world(universe) was created and because of man's hatred for God he refused to believe the bible initially. As science progresses it would have to accept biblical explanation for many things, since the bible doesn't change its stance every now and then like science and the bible clearly states some facts that are simply irrefutable even by scientific standards.
A disbelief in the theory of evolution from a theistic standpoint doesn't make theism anti-science, it's simply stating that science hasn't given it more reason to discard the creationist standpoint, science hasn't explained how non-intelligence gave rise to intelligence, non-life gave birth to life, organization arising from chaos(impossible according to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics), the Universal Law of cause and effect argues against classic evolutionary-science, science has been wrong on so many issues at such can't really be trusted to be right about everything, and most importantly if macro-evolutionary theory is subjected to strict empirical science it would fail the test woefully.
The reasons evolutionary science appears to be accepted is because the scientific community shames anyone who tries to oppose the theory, akin to what they do to people who prove Global-Warming was and is a hoax, modern day scientific community are political hacks offering their services to the highest bidder, and if you dare to disagree with their alleged findings they crucify you. Indoctrination of students from a tender age, world over evolutionists are pushing for educational boards to include the theory as a fact when it has never been observed to be true, the belief that with time anything is impossible is a very silly concept, a man can live for a million years and his penis will not retract to become a clitoris in a woman's vagina. Finally the major reason for this ideology is that scientific community believes belief in God undermines science(rightly so) and creates generation of idiots fueled by religious dogma( affirmative to some extent) who refuse to go beyond the call of religion to make things happen but this school of thought is inherently negative since it alienates creationists who are really interested in understanding how God created man using science.
In conclusion let it be known, Christianity will NEVER accept classic evolution(macroevolution) explanation of the origins of life, the Creator God(insert Intelligent Designer if you will) is winning the debates with successive scientific findings, there are still transitional missing links since Darwin postulated the theory till today, with all the advances in technology no missing links have been found neither will it be, man has not observed and will never observe macroevolution in his lifetime, and the idea that with time anything is possible is false, even Darwin himself did not regard his theory that much, he needed a transitional fossil to prove it right, he never got it and modern day evolutionary scientist haven't gotten it either, yet they treat it as fact or equivalent to a scientific law, and classic evolution is imploding with successive discoveries.
YOU CANNOT BE A TRUE CHRISTIAN AND YET BELIEVE IN THE CLASSIC THEORY OF EVOLUTION.
